Appointment Scheduling
In order to minimize your waiting time, we work on an appointment schedule. While walk-ins are welcome, we cannot guarantee that a doctor will be free to see your pet at any given time.
Normally, appointments are scheduled from 9:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., and again from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments on Saturday are scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and again from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Surgical and other anesthesia patients are checked in by a doctor between 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. on the morning of service. Please allow time for the doctor to examine your pet and go over options with you. There may be required or optional blood work, radiographs, pain medication, fluids, or other treatment needs that the doctor will discuss with you at the time of admission. We normally do not schedule surgical or dental appointments for Saturdays.
Daytime emergencies will be handled as expediently as possible. These take priority, and we hope you understand if an emergency disrupts our schedule and delays your appointment. If possible, we will attempt to call you if we are experiencing a time problem that would delay your visit.
If you have a favorite (or non-favorite) doctor you would like to see (or not see), please let us know and we will try to accommodate you. If you have a recurring problem or a recheck appointment, please try to make it with the same doctor that saw you initially.
Emergencies
At this time, there is no emergency clinic in the Mat-Su Valley for after hour’s services. All five animal clinics in the core area (All Creatures, Far Country, North Star, Palmer, and Wasilla Veterinary Clinics) rotate on-call duty after hours. Therefore, when you have an after hours
emergency, call our normal telephone number for assistance, and they will automatically contact the doctor from whichever clinic is on call at that time. The doctor will return your call as soon as possible to give you advice or make arrangements for you to bring in your pet if it needs treatment. After emergency treatment is rendered, feel free to follow up with us, or with the doctor that treated your pet.
