At All Creatures Veterinary Clinic , we strive for a warm and friendly relationship with you and your pet. This page highlights the staff - our training, experience and dedication to veterinary medicine.


Joanne G. Rehn, D.V.M.

Dr. Rehn graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 1979.  She began her veterinary career in rural mixed animal practices at Lake County Veterinary Clinic in Two Harbors, MN from 1979-1981 and Rainy River Veterinary Hospital in International Falls, MN from 1981-1983 before coming to Alaska.  She then worked at Susitna Valley Veterinary Clinic in Wasilla, AK from 1983-1984.  In 1984, Dr. Rehn established All Creatures Veterinary Clinic.

 Dr. Rehn is a member of the Alaska State Veterinary Medical Association and was an executive board member from 1996-1999 and the president from 1997-1998.  She is a current member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association and the Matanuska Valley Veterinary Association, of which she has served as the secretary and treasurer since 1992.  She was on the Operating Board of Directors of the Valley Hospital Association from 1992-1995 and a past board member of the Mat-Su Animal Control.  Dr. Rehn has also served as a trustee at Big Lake Baptist Church from 1996 to the present.

Dr. Rehn enjoys working with cats and dogs, including racing sled dogs here at All Creatures.  She enjoys cross-country skiing, horseback riding, crossword puzzles and photography.  At home, her family includes two cats, two Labradors, and two horses.

Judy Montalbano, D.V.M.

Dr. Montalbano graduated from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. She practiced at two different clinics in the suburbs of Denver, Colorado at Columbine Animal Hospital and Bellevue West Animal Hospital from 1993 to 1995 before returning to her home state of Alaska. Dr. Montalbano joined All Creatures Veterinary Clinic in July of 1995.

Dr. Montalbano is a current member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. She is a past member of the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association. Here at All Creatures, Dr. Montalbano enjoys working with dogs and cats and especially enjoys soft tissue surgery.

At home, Dr. Montalbano’s family includes her husband – Joseph, daughter – Sarah and son – Joseph. Her hobbies include playing her violin, viola and guitar, making stained glass and going horseback riding. She has a dog - Sam, a cat – Raspberry, Reba the horse and Crescent the pony.

D. Paul Bailey, D.V.M.

Dr. Bailey graduated from Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. He joined All Creatures Veterinary Clinic in July of 2008.

Dr. Bailey is a current member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Alaska Veterinary Medical Association and American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners. Here at All Creatures, Dr. Bailey loves working with all areas of veterinary medicine and especially enjoys surgery and patient interaction.

At home, Dr. Bailey enjoys spending time with his wife – Laura and their pets, Reser the dog, and Garfield & Presley the cats. He is also the owner of 12 sheep. His hobbies include hiking, fishing, hunting and raising livestock.

Kelly Perdue, D.V.M.

Dr. Perdue graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville in May 2009. She is originally from Tennessee, and attended undergraduate school at Berry College in Northwest Georgia. Dr. Perdue joined All Creatures in July of 2009.

She is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Equine Practitioners, and the Alaska State Veterinary Medical Association. Dr. Perdue enjoys many aspects of veterinary medicine, but particularly enjoys internal medicine, oncology, and ophthalmology.

Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, fishing (and ice fishing), kayaking and horseback riding. She shares her home with her 3 dogs, 1 cat, and fish – Briar, a Labrador Retriever, Noah, a Doberman, Madison, a collie mix, and Banjo, her cat.

Dianne E. Hutchison, D.V.M.

Dr. Hutchison graduated from Tufts College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. She practiced veterinary medicine in a mixed animal hospital, consisting of 75% dairy animals, for seven years at Avon Animal Clinic in Pennsylvania. She then joined her husband at Adams Town Veterinary Hospital, where they owned and operated the practice together for more than seven years. In the Fall of 2004, she moved to Alaska where she has been doing exclusively small animals. Dr. Hutchison began working at All Creatures Veterinary Clinic part time in April of 2006.

Dr. Hutchison is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association. Here at All Creatures, she enjoys working with companion animals, mostly cats and dogs. Dr. Hutchison also enjoys internal medicine and soft tissue surgery.

At home, Dr. Hutchison enjoys spending time with her husband – Bob, and her extended family of animals. She has two Giant Schnauzers, one Karelian Bear Dog, 12 laying chickens and two horses. Her hobbies include horseback riding, hiking, fishing and hunting.

Lannie Hamilton, D.V.M.

Dr. Hamilton graduated from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. She is a sole practitioner at her private practice in Wyoming and has traveled to Alaska as a relief veterinarian for All Creatures Veterinary Clinic since 1995. She worked a fellowship in large animal medicine and surgery at Oregon State from 1998-1999.

Dr. Hamilton is a current member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Equine Practitioners and the Wyoming State Veterinary Medical Association. Here at All Creatures, Dr. Hamilton enjoys working with companion animals, particularly internal medicine and orthopedic surgery.

At home, Dr. Hamilton enjoys horseback riding, especially dressage, mountaineering, art and gardening. She shares her home with her dogs, Obi and Jack, cats, Ernie and Mrs. Chippie, six horses and three cows!

Susan H. Barnes, D.V.M.

Dr. Susan H. Barnes graduated from Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1997. She began her veterinary career doing an internship at the Metroplex Veterinary Centre in Irving, Texas, from 1997-1998. She then worked as an associate veterinarian at Creekside Animal Clinic from 1998-1999 in Arlington, Texas. In 1999, Dr. Barnes purchased Highland Ranch Animal Clinic, located in a suburb of Denver, Colorado, where she practiced until 2003. Dr. Barnes joined All Creatures Veterinary Clinic in November of 2006 as a part-time veterinarian.

Dr. Barnes is a current member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Colorado Veterinary Medical Association, Alaska Veterinary Medical Association and was a member of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association from 1997-2005. Here at All Creatures, Dr. Barnes enjoys working with small animals and is especially interested in internal medicine.

At home, Dr. Barnes’ family includes her husband – Dave and five boys – Zach, Luke, Nick, Andy and Tom.  They have a cat – Rosie, dog – Bug and some fish.  Her hobbies include reading, rubber stamping/card making, hiking and playing with her kids.

Judith Masteller, D.V.M.

Dr. Judith Masteller graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1985. She practiced veterinary medicine in Philadelphia and Detroit before moving to Alaska in 1991. She moved to the Mat-Su Valley in 1996. Dr. Masteller joined All Creatures in March of 2006.

Dr. Masteller is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and has been a member of the Alaska State Veterinary Medical Association since 1991. She was a member of the Mat-Su Animal Care and Regulating Board from 1999-2006 and has done volunteer work with Alaska Dog and Puppy Rescue and Mat-Valley Kitties Rescue groups since 2000. Here at All Creatures, Dr. Masteller enjoys working with dogs and cats with special interests in internal medicine.

At home, Dr. Masteller’s family includes her husband - Mark, her Labrador mix – Lulu and cats - Stumpy and Chloe. She has played defense for Mat-Su Regional Women’s Hockey Team since 1996. When not playing ice hockey, she enjoys gardening, hiking, skiing, and traveling.
